Oquin and Shaw

Musica Sacra concludes the 2025-2026 season with the world premiere of Wayne Oquin’s On the Words of Walt Whitman for soloists, chorus and chamber orchestra, with soloists Susanna Phillips and John Moore. Oquin’s cantata spans the totality of Walt Whitman’s poetry—from the iconic “Song of Myself” to lesser-known gems written later in Whitman’s life.

The program also features Caroline Shaw’s Entr’acte for string orchestra and Oquin’s beautiful a cappella works including O Magnum Mysterium, Alleluia and Sure on this shining night.
